Paradise garage has been heavily covered in recent time's.
Radio, T.V, blogs, mixes, books. You name it and something's been laced with it.
Suit's me down to the ground.
So I stumbled into this mix from Simon Cordiner who filled this piece with everything I love in a good mix, snippet's from interviews and live performance's from the garage, samples and great music.
It doesn't matter how many time's you hear these records they just keep getting better.
Jam's from Geraldine Hunt & Loleatta Holloway, Thelma Houston and the amazing lick "you are my love" by Sandy Mercer to name a few.
To summarize it's an hour and a bit worth of your time, it's full of soul and good feeling and he's obviously not that bothered about the mixing but then what does that matter really ?
Enjoy x

Oliver Spencer, Folk & Seersucker... by Shaun Dangerfield
Everyone loves presents right, giving them, receiving them.
Celebrating my birthday last week I didn't get to receive this bumper effort until Saturday from Saul and his beautiful good lady.
We are pretty easy to buy for each other seeing as we are into the same thing's in life, to a scary point at time's.
Only last month we bought the same APC t shirt within a day of each other, not knowing of course.
It's become a running joke between us over the years but as I said above it's also a good thing on birthday's and at Christmas because you don't need hint's either way.
I wasn't expecting this though, I never expect anything from anyone so when I get present's like this it's very much appreciated.
And the funny thing is I had eyed up all 3 item's over time, so not just nice gifts but items I actually want and will love wearing in the Oliver Spencer block pocket tee, the Folk multi tee and the M&S seersucker shorts.
Love it.

Something for the Weekend Sir?..By Saul Wilks
Everyone loves receiving presents don't they? Especially when they're not expected and come as a little bit of a surprise.
I've mentioned to my girlfriend that I could do with a new weekend bag a couple of times and she obviously took it on board because when I met her after work last week she handed me a Fed-Ex box from those heady soles up at End clothing.
In a rush of child like excitement I opened the package and was proper made up to see it was APC's gorgeous see sucker weekend bag from this S/S. What a result.
I've eyed this bag up a few times over the last few weeks and I'm sure she must have been hovering a few times when I sat with my finger over the 'add to cart' button but good girl that she is convinced me to save my money and then went and treated me. I do love her, what a sweetheart.
Anyhow, it served me well this weekend and I've been rocking it suave chap style as it has some ace details and is a thing of real quality. The tan leather trim finish compliments the see sucker stripe perfectly and it has just the right amount of space for my chosen wears and other compliments. So it gets a resounding ten out of ten here.
Living proof that treating them mean doesn't pay dividends... Bollocks to that, it's all about giving them the love and receiving boss APC weekend bags for your efforts.
All in all, the girl done good.

Camp... by Shaun Dangerfield
Camp. That's the first word out of my good lady's mouth when I pulled these last pick up's out the bag.
She's probably right but I love them nonetheless.
I'm not sure what's happening at Baracuta but of recent time's their flash sale's ring alarm bell's, not just because I've always held a special place for the label but the fact that they offload their jacket's for £20 ? which is ridiculous to be honest and I just wonder how many time's they can do that without suffering in the long run.
Not that I argued the fact and happily paid my £24.99 delivered for this dusty pink slim fit G9.
At those prices there is no better quality jacket in the world.
Which again as I said earlier a ridiculous price for such a quality garment.
Next up another summer sale item in the form of Gitman Vintage.
I don't need to say anything about the quality of Gitman it's pretty standard that those who know their shirt's know they make fantastic gear and I've yet to grumble with anything from them.
Coming in navy with a floral pattern and randomly placed butterflies that will make me blend perfectly into a beautiful garden once this summer actually start's..... or I can just wear it in a different world with a large grin getting my rave on. Either way I'm happy.
I Got to sport the Baracuta last night and will probably wear it today as well....just because I can.

Swedish Luxury...By Saul Wilks
Thanks to a hook a up from a very good friend of mine I'll be having a nose around London fashion week next Friday and then sharing my musings through the medium of Spoonfed London. This is obviously a pretty ace opportunity and I'm more than looking forward to getting stuck into it.
It has crossed my mind that London fashion week might just be a little pompous and I've indeed seen pictures of blokes dressed in jawa outfits and big beetle crusher shoes which, as you're probably aware, isn't quite my lick. Fashion's a funny thing and a word I hate using - though having a sneak peek at what the likes of Oliver Spencer and Margaret Howell have to offer us next year is a warming prospect indeed.
With all this bouncing around my head I thought it best to get something to carry my gazetteer instruments around in... Call me cynical but I don't really think my trusty battered checked Barbour Terras really fits the bill too well so today was simply about finding something simple, smart but above all - practical.
I headed into Liberties department store down off Oxford Circus for a nose as my epic adventures around London town's thrift stores and vintage shops from Spitalfields to Notting Hill prior to this heralded nothing apart from sore feet and a good old fashioned summer time soaking courtesy of the weather gods (The Batten came in handy though, so not all doom and gloom)
I'm probably not on my own here, but I wish I had bags of excess cash to fritter away on luxury goods and items such Ally Capellino and Calabrese leather document holders, but even I know that dropping 400 notes on a bag is taking the piss a little bit, so I flicked the devil off my shoulder and headed to exit the store but on my way out I noticed something that really caught my eye.
Sanqvist hails from the Scandinavian outpost of Stockholm and although I've browsed their backpacks before I've never been overly fussed with them. However, I came up trumps today with this handsome canvas and leather strap folder case today. It's perfect for what I was after - Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, nice and lightweight with a spacious compartment and has a plethora of fine classic and contemporary details.
After getting over the brief worry that a strapless folder satchel actually might make me look like I'm carrying a clutch purse, I parted with 50 of the queens English and was incredibly happy with a fine and wise purchase...
Sleek, slender, Swedish and finished with luxury leather - it's like the ultimate brass... If that's your thing.

Focus on detail.... by Shaun Dangerfield
If you can remember on here back in February I posted up my last wallet purchase in the form of Tender Co's long leather wallet, with it's appearance all raw and un'lived in it still looked a mighty piece of hide waiting for a willing punter such as myself to give it some good pocket action.
4 month's down the line and the colour is coming out beautifully, still pretty stiff although it is folding on it's own now but that's something that will take a lot of time to wear down.

Few snap's.... by Shaun Dangerfield
Feeling very relaxed on my birthday today and enjoying being back and settled and looking forward to playing some records this weekend at XOYO in London with the like's of Tiger&Woods and Mylo.
Apart from eating too well and too much I fell lucky with this British weather we are so famous for with the sun blaring Monday to Friday on the coast..... enjoying some beach time and kicking back in some linen's as opposed to my usual outerwear apart from the one afternoon where the cloud's turned and the wind threw the sand around quite wildly but not wild enough to stop me taking a photo of the snarling scenery change in the black and white photo near the bottom.
A man of not so many word's this week (I'm sure that will change next week when I catch up with work and I relieve my stress with various outburst's on here) so I'll leave you with a few snap's from last week......
Hitney Whouston...By Saul Wilks
You know when you hear a record and you stop what you're doing and you just screw face around the room or at anyone in the local vicinity? No? Then I guarantee you will after you've heard this.
One of my favourite producers /and editors around, J-Kriv of Deep and Disco delivers this unbelievably sleazy rework of Whitney Housten's 'I wanna dance with somebody'. God rest her soul.
I've just bagged it up ready for the weekend so it should be bringing down XOYO's roof this Saturday night where me and Dangerfield will be playing on the bill with Tiger and Woods among others - If you're in the vicinity and fancy some seriously heavy sound waves then come down and say bonjour!
Until then though, enjoy Whitney as you've never heard her before and try not to simulate sex with the nearest object to you... I'm off to plate the remote, she's been asking for it all day.
Our Legacy Selvage...By Saul Wilks
I've worn the same pair of denims for a couple of years now, although I do confess to buying a backup pair when the crotch wore out through intense wear. That instrument of Denim resurrection, Doctor Denim helped re-crotch the crotchless 3 year Nudies I was rolling around in and all was well... then the inner legs frayed. Off to the Doctor once more.
With all this crotch wearing and fraying in mind I've been speculating over a new pair of denims for quite some time - I've actually got a pair on the go at the moment that I wear in the stead of their injured cousin but then we can never have too many pairs of jeans hanging up in the wardrobe not being worn.
I hit up the Goodley PR sample sale last week to wreak havoc on the racks of bargains that were there to be exploited. Folk, Oliver Spencer, YMC and Universal Works were the main labels being represented but then in amongst these four bastions of British menswear were a couple of continental names such as Engineered Garments and one of my favourites, Our Legacy.
Because I'm a sucker for a bargain I actually went down to the sale both days it was running and believe it or not the second day heralded a more pleasurable experience both in the fact that I preferred what I picked up and that it wasn't full of overly camp try hard's and East London clones bustling around like they were on an amphetamine fulled supermarket sweep.
By rule of thumb these sample sales are generally hammered a few hours into the first day so when strolling down Redchurch Street early last Thursday morning I wasn't surprised to see just one person queueing up instead of the few hundred that had been in the same place at the same time the previous morning. With not much hope of finding anything that wouldn't later end up on eBay a few months down the line I casually strolled in and leisurely flicked through the racks of waxed Oliver Spencer jackets and boring Engineered Garments seconds.
After finding a few gems and nearing the end of my short cameo appearance on day two I brushed past Folks trouser section and noticed a pair of jeans with a nice colour to them. After closer inspection it was obvious these were probably here by mistake as they were current season Our Legacy Selvage. Double taking the label my wallet exploded in orgasm, noting that the price crudely scribbled on the front was 30 bar. Bargain... Bag em up sir.
I much prefer slim fit denim - I can't get on with anything loose fitting or regular fitting, it just doesn't suit me, however these Our Legacy are a regular fit and I must admit although my girlfriend said I looked fit in them when I tried them on later that night, I know in her heart of hearts she thought I looked like a white MC Hammer. I don't blame her though, she hasn't seen me out of a pair of Nudie Long Johns since we first met, so she had a point.
Regular fit or parachute pants fit, for thirty quid I couldn't complain and Doctor Denim soon had another pair of jeans pencilled in with the instruction to taper the leg to something more wearable. In all honesty, with larking about put to one side for a moment, I actually thought they were nice in the regular fit but they just remind me too much of bespectacled malnutritioned Japanese Kids wearing ridiculously expensive Junya jackets with massive hem openings. It's a good look if you hail from Tokyo and are about ten stone, but not so good if you're an average chap from Wales.
I never actually thought I could babble so much tosh about a pair of jeans that cost me 30 sheets but there you, so without further ado, here's a few snaps. The photos probably don't do them the justice they deserve, but I reckon they're topper for summer.
I've concluded that crushing my nuts in a pair of cardboard stiff raw's isn't really my scene and it's the all about the pre fades (expects a selvage lined letter bomb through the post off over the top denim enthusiast)
Only joking, they're sky high for thirty bucks though, In my humble opinion anyway.
