Made in Lyon, France. Arpenteur make French military and work wear inspired clothing from locally sourced fabrics and keep all the production work in house.
Taking inspiration from the 1920's-50's period it churn's out good honest simple clothing easily wearable and of good quality.
This green duck hunting vest is a great fit, sturdy in build and a lovely colour.
(Great artwork to boot.)
The first three photos are with flash and are more of a true colour, the other photo's are no flash but taken at night so the colour isn't as nice but shows the detailing on the garment.
I've stolen these photo's from the Arpenteur blog as I quite like the highlighting of the natural dyeing process.
For spring summer 2013.
The photos below those are of this a/w2012 wool vest and jacket purely just for some clothing porn as I think they were great items.

I've got a whole host of mixes that I love and listen to regularly so I'll do a weekly mix up on here that I've been loving long time or fresh out the mixing oven.
Will be lot's of variation but I'll start up with a legendary mix from Boogie Nite that never fails to satisfy me.....

Tender Woad Dyed Guards Jacket...By Saul Wilks
I've had my heart set on Tender Co's beautiful dyed woad guards jacket for some time, at one point even considering a costly import from Hickorees just to get my hands on one. As it happened one in my size popped up on eBay for a third of it's normal retail price. Not shy of a bargain I readily snapped the sellers hand off and now have this magnificently crafted jacket perched in the wardrobe ready for Summer.
The lighting in my living room doesn't quite capture the fades and dying process as I would have hoped, but hopefully you get the gist with these pictures and just how lovely this piece really is.
I've got some traditional French Breton on stand by ready for the summer, so I'm all set for some strong Napoleonic vibes going down when I finally come to breaking this out.
Hat's off to Tender though, the Suffolk based label has already been coveted well on here and my enthusiasm knows no bounds when it comes to British handmade goods and clothing as good as this.
Seriously top draw clobber...
Edwin Red-Line Selvedge...By Saul Wilks
I've been in the market for a decent new pair of denim for a while and finally took the hit by splashing out on the ED-55 Red Selvedge from London denim aficionados, Son of a Stag.
Where as I've always been staunch Nudie, my trusty Long Johns, loved as they are, aint quite cutting the mustard any more so they've been officially retired until summer and these new raw beauties haven't left my lower body since.
Quality Japanese denim that doesn't break the bank...
Bingo!

The Right Now... by Shaun Dangerfield
Chicago band The Right Now have just entered my radar.
I love hearing a modern soulful record done tastefully with a bit of class and this delivers... musically beautiful.
And the bonus is the Hot Toddy remix to play out, a savage piece of 12" wax available as of yesterday and if the sax don't get ya' then her voice will and if it doesn't get you lyrically then your made of stone you cold hearted mo-fo and I want you to leave my sight while I let her croon all over me.....
Original first and Hot Toddy second.

Clockwork Orange Art.... by Shaun Dangerfield
We've had the still image of Alex DeLarge flicking through records as the main header for some time now, an iconic moment from an iconic film, a bit of magic.
I thought I would put this artwork up that I've got stored in a file with a load of other useless Clockwork Orange fodder cluttering my system from along the way..... good though.

Steven Alan Blucher..... by Shaun Dangerfield
After quite a trek these Steven Alan blucher's finally turned up imported from America.
Rust/Ginger suede with red brick Vibram sole handmade in Pennsylvania, full leather lining and waxed laces with a goodyear welted sole.
I think this is my 4th pair of shoes in ginger suede with red sole, without doubt my favourite looking colour shoe and design but these are the sturdiest pair I've had, really well made.
The Steven Alan Journal is always worth a read through if you have 10 minutes...

Buttero... by Shaun Dangerfield
Going back to the subject of clean silhouettes on trainers and shoes that I was talking about in the Converse post I thought I would share these photo's from Buttero for those who have not saw them. From the initial tanning and dyeing to the cutting and sewing I love photo's like this taking you through step by step with what they do.
I've been thinking about trying to make a leather wallet for much too long now, not to use but just to see how it would turn out and I'm sure if I put some time and effort into it I could turn something out worthwhile.
Back to Buttero though who are housed in Tuscany, Italy and run by the Sani family since 1974.
World famous for it's riding boots but as you can see make a mean casual shoe as well.
In their own words "The silhouettes benefit from the Italian eye for form, proportion and style. The final result: a fusion of pure rawness and elegance."
Or as I like to say some pretty dandy trabs.
