Eskimo Records.... by Shaun Dangerfield

Belgium's Eskimo Records has a varied back catalogue that hosts some big names in the production world.
Flicking through NuDisco, Indie, House, Electronica & Deep bass it has a production output that includes the talent's of Casio Social Club to Aeroplane, Bottin to Drop Out Orchestra, Hot Toddy, Lindstrom, Chromeo and a whole host of other talented producers and bands.

Eskimo Records, created by The Glimmers duo Mo Becha & David Fouquaert who joined the dots between House, Disco & Electronica.
I had a good nose at the latest compilation release and hit up the pre-order purely for the remixed tracks on "Eskimonde" a 5 cd box set made up of the labels chosen tracks from the back catalog with some fresh new remixes to boot.

As any compilation it can be hit & miss and there are a few tracks I wouldn't play out, but music wise I'll listen to in the house or on the iPod, perfect laid back beats and disco re-works.
I really enjoyed DJ Harvey's bash of "Mediterraneo" the Eskimo classic from Dr Beat San Sebastian, a latin infused workout that get's a long played out house infusion from Harvey and one I'll be playing out now & again at the right time.
Another record I've always loved (although it's hammered and played out) is Aeroplanes "We Can't fly" which get's a welcomed remix from Oliver and again somewhere I will give it an airing at the right place right time.
The Low Motion Disco track (number 2) "Love Love Love" had some great efforts from Soft rocks and Aeroplane both dating back 5 years to 2008 so was nice to hear what Solomun come up with on his edit of the said track making it deep and squelchy.
You can preview the remixed cd (disc 3) below and the 2 tracks I was talking about are number 1 and number 8....
