Good Old Ralph...

If there has been one constant fixture in quality menswear over the years, worn and worshiped by a plethora of people and styles, then Ralph Lauren certainly takes the plaudits.

Recently while having a general scout around a certain London boutique, my stare became jaded when my beady eyes traced across this gorgeous Baywood wading jacket. It's a sublime bit of kit, suitable for summer with that little bit extra for the cooler evenings, this is a classic example of Ralph Lauren at its best. I love the  aura this jacket possesses with its subtle styling and outdoor detailing and I'm usually a hood addict but this definitely pushes all the right buttons...

Away from the racks of polo shirts (we'll get there soon) this is a top end garment that holds its place among the Engineered Garments and Woolrich Woolen Mills of this world. Quality feeling, designed and looking jacket and definitely worthy of its handsome price tag !

Moving onto those racks of polo shirts, this effort below is a real belter. The colours and the stripe arrangement is spot on for these heat waves we've been having and the sense of Saturday night mischief is there to see. I'm a self confessed nautical junkie, so I guess I was always going to be attracted by a garment such as this, but along with a well chosen pair of shorts and a neat pair of deck shoes this will make that well-worn look that little bit fresher...
